Hager1425 Posted April 12, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2011 Hi! We are leaivng on Sunday for a 6 night crusie on the Carnival Freedom. When we return on Saturday we are renting a car for the day as we have a late flight out of West Palm Beach. I am thinking we will spend the day at Fort Lauderdale beach. Can anyone tell me anything about it? Parking? Restaurants? Etc... THANK YOU!!!
ljslight Posted April 13, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 13, 2011 When we cruise a few weeks ago on the Freedom we had booked the Courtyard Beach hotel. It is by Bubba Gumps. We really enjoyed the beach. The sand was smooth and the beach was clean. They do rent chairs and umbrellas. We just ate at Bubba Gumps and had pizza for supper. I picked up some small shells at the beach also. Dunner Posted April 16, 2011 #4 Share Posted April 16, 2011 The beach is beautiful. There are shops and restaurants and bars on one side of the road and the beach on the other side. There is a sidewalk along side of the beach. It is a very pretty area. We also ate Bubba Gumps. Sorry can't remember what kind of fish I had ,but I enjoyed my meal and the outside atmosphere. Lots of places to eat=== saw some with second floor patios overlooking the beach. Don't know about parking, the shuttle dropped us off. FYI--at one place we stopped at for two for one drinks= the regular price for two large margaritas (spelling?) was 35 dollars so we got them for 17 dollars, but they put the tip on the 35 dollars. The tip was close to $6.00. Didn't seem quite right to us. I double checked ,but that is how they do it. Maybe that is how it is done ,but I don't recall anyplace doing that.
