What is there to do there and do you have a website address you can give me?

How is the snorkeling?

Thank you

Snorkeling is not possible at Jolly Beach most of the year due to a fine sand sediment in the water which reduces visibilty to near zero. I've been told that it can clear in the summer, but I've never seen it.

Steve,

How far is the Pier... and have you stayed at the Jolly Beach Resort, we are only there one night.... Also, is there much shopping in town. Our ship doesn't leave until 7PM and we can board at 2pm... any suggestions on what we should do,...

Thanks

It's only about 15 -20 minutes to the pier by taxi.

I haven't stayed at JBR, but I've spent a lot of time at Coco's next door.

I guess your main problem will be your bags.

If you don't want to spend the day on the beach, you could hire a taxi for a few hours when you check out of JBR and then you could try the zipline tour on Fig Tree Drive or take a look around English Harbour and Nelson's Dockyard.

I wouldn't personally spend a lot of time shopping in St Johns.

  • 2 weeks later...

My family just got back this weekend from a week at Jolly Beach Resort (no cruise this spring break). We had a fabulous time there and can't wait to go back. The beach is not great for snorkeling, as others have said. You can go to the far right, out past the rock jetty, where there is some snorkeling to be done. We did a catamaran cruise to the reef at Cades Bay, which was incredible.

The kids loved the pools, anything you want to drink is available. Food was ok, not as good as on a cruise. The view from the beach is unbelievable. I could spend everyday looking at the view!
