Just back from an extended trip to the Far East, including a fantastic week spent in Bali, hosted by our long time Celebrity favorite bartender, Sudi Artawan.

 

Sudi had 11 contracts on Celebrity, and constantly amazed with his juggling, card tricks and great interpersonal skills. He married his lovely wife, Lilik, 5 years ago, and has a 4 year old son, Willing, and a 9 month daughter, Honesty. He has built a thriving business of recruiting and training Iin Bali and Indonesia for work in the cruise industry. He works with many cruise lines including RCCL, Celebrity, Azamara, Regent, Oceania and Disney.During our week there he had personnel reps from RCCL, Celebrity and Azamara final interview over 400 candidates that he recruited and trained, including working a 6 month internship at some of Bali's 5 star resorts. Approximately 80% received job offers. He has built very impressive training facilities, including a new building that will have an actual ship's galley, bar and dining room. We remember Sudi from the martini bars on the M class dhips.

He introduced my wife to white chocolate martinis.

He was the #1 bartender & opened the martini bar on all newly

commissioned ships. I had heard he retired & went back home.

Glad to see he is doing well.
