Best weather? Is stern better than sides for sun?

Panama Canal trip - eastbound San Diego to Ft Lauderdale. When's best time weatherwise - Nov, Dec or Jan? Also, is the stern any better than the sides of the ship for sun?

SD to the Canal the afternoon sun will basically be on the starboard side of the ship. From Colon to FLL the afternoon sun will tend towards the port depending on your route. Hurricane season runs through November but I would not be overly concerned about that, the last two times we did SAN to FLL the weather was superb. You really just can't make any real perdiction. December and January are not historically stormy months in the tropics in general.
