EileenN Posted April 30, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2011 I use a walker and our DD is in a wheelchair. We can't go very far or need handicapped access to a beach. We have been able to handle this in sevral islands. What options would you suggest for St. Maarten? We enjoy either a day pass at a hotel or beach we can handle. I would love to hear from you. If you are able to take a taxi then I would suggest the Royal Palm resort in the Simpson Bay area. There is a restaurant/bar that is covered and it is between the pool and the beach. It is not the nicest of beaches but the view is very nice. There is a swim up bar at the pool as well. We have stayed at the resort and the Cabana restaurant/bar served others as well as resort guests. You could try giving them a call for more information. I also would suggest that you go to the Special Interest Cruising area on the main page of cc and search the board entitled Disabled Cruising (or something on that line). I took a peak and it has a lot of questions and answers about accessibility at ports and on the ships.
EileenN Posted May 2, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted May 2, 2011 Thank you, I had already asked on the other board and did not get much info on St. Martin. So I thought I would try here. Thank you so much. We can use a cab easily.
