6 of us Posted May 3, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 3, 2011 We have been to Paradise Island, the public beach there, we were constantly harassed to buy something, they would follow us & not take "no thank you" for an answer. We relaxed none! They even followed us into the water. If we do not do an excursion, is there a more quiet beach that you all have gone too in Nassau? Maybe with food nearby? THANK YOU :D. Rare crewsweeper Posted May 3, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 3, 2011 Turn right out of the docks and follow the street around past the Hilton, any stretch of that beach is more local than vendors although there are some vendors there, but not hawkers tailing you. About a 10-15 minute walk at tops. And you might be able to cut through the Hilton but I think it's fenced on the other side. Just 5 minutes more and you're at Awak City (Fish Fry) for some great conch fritters, cold Kaliks or Sands brews. :) 5 minute taxi ride gets you back to the pier. DO NOT EAT THE CONCH FRITTERS at the restaurant across from the Hilton with the big sign. DO EAT at the Filipino restaurant just outside the shopping market area at the cruise dock. 6 of us Posted May 3, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted May 3, 2011 How about Compass Beach, or Cable beach, those sound familiar to me. Anyone been to either beach?
Islandbuoy Posted May 3, 2011 #5 Share Posted May 3, 2011 There's a whole big section of boards, near the bottom, on ports. Which is where this belongs. Lots of discussion on Nassau beaches!
