Joy2Day Posted March 14, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2005 Without knowing a lot more about what specific excursions, etc.. you plan to do, this is a very broad question and difficult to answer. Some basics are to plan to dress in layers since the weather can vary widely day-to-day. I went out to Google and searched 'Alaska cruise packing list'. There is a lot of detailed information available. Read through a couple of these. They should give you some good ideas of where to start.
mii Posted March 14, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 14, 2005 The main thing to do is layer, layer and more layer. For example, I take turtlenecks, a medium weight coat, sweater and sweatshirts. Now if you are going really inland you might tak a heavier coat. Also bring rain gear very comfortable shoes, gloves, umbrella. Now you might have real nice weather so maybe a couple of short sleeve shirts and you always wear your sweater of it gets chilly. Have a great cruise. Giantfan13 Posted March 15, 2005 #5 Share Posted March 15, 2005 There have been many threads about what to pack and wear on your Alaska cruise/tours. Check back a few pages and you will find a wealth of info. If you are doing a land tour you might need some extra layers, and it also depends on when you are going. anytime in the summer, Alaska is still fairly warm and a thin cotton shirt will do just fine. When you are cruising into Galcier areas, then it does tend to get a bit nippy and you might need a hat and gloves. Layers, layers and layers. Everything thin layers. fleece is great and is you have, a pair of thermal undies.
