Dress code while in Bermuda

Recommended Posts

For those of you who have been to Bermuda: Could you please tell me if there is a dress code while in Bermuda? I was told that it is a bit different than the Caribbean in that it is not as relaxed. So, are capris and shorts okay or does one need to wear something like a sundress while on land (of course this does not mean guys ;)). I am doing a pre-pack and I do believe I will get everything into one small case each, if it is shorts/capris, rather than a large one each. Your answers will help a great deal. Thanks for any help.

I have been on several non-cruise vacations there and there isn't a dress code. Shorts and Capris will be fine. It's interesting to see the bankers in their high socks and Bermuda shorts though.

Frowned upon is short shorts, tiny tops, etc. You get the picture. ;) Modest shorts are fine.

Hahaha...at my age I would look absolutely ridiculous in short shorts and tiny tops. But I understand that you have no way of knowing that. I try to hide as many imperfections as I can ;)

Bermuda is very proper... short shorts and no bathing suits should be worn while walking in town. For the men, men must wear shirts. If you ride the bus, make sure you are not in a wet bathing suit and that your towel is not wet, they will not let you on the bus.
