cruisinqt Posted June 16, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 16, 2004 A couple of things that you don't always see on those packing lists that might come in handy are underwater disposable cameras and a night light. You don't want to get sand or water on your nice camera and you sure can't take pictures underwater with it. If you buy one on the ship or in port expect to pay double. Our pictures from ours looked professional. The night light is perfect because those cabins are pitch black and you can't see your hand in front of your face. We found that if you leave the bathroom light on, it lights up the whole room because it is such a small space. But a small night light is perfect for a quick midnight trip to the bathroom. You might even bring sandwich baggies to put cookies, fruit, sandwiches or anything else from the buffet into. I hate to waste food and if we overdo it and have cookies or food left over on our plates we bag it up and keep it to munch on in our room or while we're on the beach. I hope this helps, enjoy the cruise!
Shelli Posted June 18, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 18, 2004
quote:
You might even bring sandwich baggies to put cookies, fruit, sandwiches or anything else from the buffet into.

You need to be careful with bringing food ashore. Most of the islands do not allow fruit, especially, to be brought off cruise ships. And the ships themselves usually post warnings about taking food off at the end of the cruise. It all has to do with the possibility of introducing pests (e.g. fruitflies) to places where they haven't previously been a problem. kidz_rn Posted June 21, 2004 #7 Share Posted June 21, 2004 Hi Shelli, Greetings from next door in Cherry Hill! Leaving for Bermuda on Horizon out of Philly in 2 weeks. This packing list thread was a great reminder for things I may have missed and needed!
