First time prospective cruiser

I am considering a RCCL cruise to either Bahamas/St thomas or Mexico ports during the July -Sept timeframe. What should I expect from the weather? Should I choose one itinerary over the other based on the weather?? Please help, I am a REAL rookie at this!!!

The ship will sail around any extreme weather. It's all up to mother nature.

Personally I do not like Mexico, I would take the Caribbean anytime. What other ports do you stop at????? St Thomas is fun; has great shopping and some wonderful beaches/snorkeling.
