Kiwi Kruzer Posted May 12, 2011 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2011 I hired a house boat once does that count as a river cruise? :) Sorry Mate. If you can answer YES to any these questions it does not qualify. *Did you have to cook all your meals? *Did you have to pour your own drinks? *Did you have to make your own bed? (the answer NO, the wife did all that , does not qualify either:D:D

A Nile Cruise is on my bucket list.... but Egypt is not too appealing at the moment. Mind you , its always been a bit iffy? Did they have extra security then? Bella cruiser Posted May 12, 2011 #10 Share Posted May 12, 2011 A Nile Cruise is on my bucket list....but Egypt is not too appealing at the moment. Mind you , its always been a bit iffy? Did they have extra security then? We were there for almost a month and in that time did a few tours (one included the Nile cruise, one to Alexandria and one into the Sinai). We also did our own thing a bit too and never had any dramas in those days. My husband is of Egyptian descent and has lots of relatives over there, although we met in Australia. Last time we went was January 2010 as my son (who was almost 7 at the time had never met is other nana and heaps of uncles, aunts and cousins.) He was so spoiled by everyone. I am so pleased we went then because it may be some years before I feel it's safe enough to take my son again.

bobhsv Posted May 12, 2011 #12 Share Posted May 12, 2011 Sounds like a great holiday. Was the house boat in that place just north of Sydney, or on the Murray? That place just north of Sydney is the Hawkesbury River.....just a hop step and a jump from our house (which is not a boat:eek:). Great for a cruise. Must tell DH that he is permitted to add it to our list, as he also won't recall any bed making, houseboat work, or cooking. I do remember he may recall the pouring of drinks though....maybe:D Jen
