mrshark Posted May 13, 2011 #3 Share Posted May 13, 2011 we have been on Solstice 2x. Think about it, would we have gone back if we didn't like it the first time?:p Great choice, love the Solstice.

Caribbean cruises under my belt, I can safely say - 'Welcome to Celebrity'. I've not cruised Princess but I have greatly enjoyed my 3 Celebrity cruises. I think you'll be happy with your decision. Also, if you're remotely interested in diving or snorkeling then Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and Roatan are some great ports to visit.
miched Posted May 17, 2011 #6 Share Posted May 17, 2011 We have cruised many Princess, Carnival, and once on HAL and RCCL. Cruised Solstice in April. By far the best unless you want constant kaos, head throbbing bands playing, and all day announcements plus smoke filled casinos you may not be happy. Very laid back, classy, elegant, smokeless, and semi quiet. Nothing really being pushed except for the wine tastings.
Unca Pete Posted May 17, 2011 #7 Share Posted May 17, 2011 We've sailed on Princess, and it is a nice line. Our first Celebrity cruise will be in the Fall. Looking forward to it!
John73 Posted May 18, 2011 #8 Share Posted May 18, 2011 We've sailed on Princess, and it is a nice line. Our first Celebrity cruise will be in the Fall. Looking forward to it! Be interested to hear your comparison of Princess vs Celebrity. I'm considering a Princess cruise this summer to Alaska, but only if my preferred Celebrity Med cruise doesn't fall in to place. Rare Lobbylin Posted May 18, 2011 #9 Share Posted May 18, 2011 Rehydra, You will have a lovely cruise! I have cruised with many lines (3* to 6*) over the years and have always loved Celebrity as I think the service and food is better than the likes of Princess / RCI / (a lot) above NCL, and that is what appeals to me. There was a gap of about 3yrs that I did not cruise with Celebrity, mainly because I am driven by itineraries rather than cruiselines and couldn't find anything we wanted to do; but I returned to Celebrity this May on the Eclipse, with another cruise booked on the Eclipse later this year, and I can honestly say that I really had forgotten just how good Celebrity are, and I am very pleased to be back!;) Have a wonderful cruise!
