I think that if you have some idea of what you might want to do, it's worth it to subscribe to GroupOn. They have a lot of cultural and food coupons.

There's also a Vancouver based equivalent called "Living Social"

Another source of coupons is the Entertainment Book for Vancouver which can currently be purchased for $15. If you are in Vancouver for 2 day or so it can be a great value.
