sailingnut Posted May 14, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 14, 2011 I have points from a Bank of America credit card. Would I be able to use them on my cruise in November? Thanks.;)
maun Posted May 14, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 14, 2011 I believe you can redeem 10,000 points for a $100 onboard credit. If you go to the Bank of America/worldpoints website, click on redeem - travel - norwegian cruises when you get to onboard credit it will give you a code number and a telephone number to call. ~~Maun
MagnoliaBlossom Posted May 14, 2011 #3 Share Posted May 14, 2011 If you have enough points you have time to redeem for a Nov. cruise without problem. You may check out the stickie about the NCL M/C.
steelgoddess Posted May 15, 2011 #4 Share Posted May 15, 2011 I got my NCL credit card a little over a month ago. After my first purchase they gave me 10,000 bonus points. I called the agent we booked with at NCL and he was able to give us $100.00 onboard credit for the 10,000 points. I am using this card exclusively this month and should have enough for another $100.00 credit. He did it immediately over the phone...no waiting for a gift card in the mail or anything like that. I put this under my name so my husband can apply for one under his name and get the bonus points too. It's a great deal. Jill
Hikini Posted May 15, 2011 #5 Share Posted May 15, 2011 We're saving our points for a big one. Garden Villa, maybe. :D

signora Posted May 15, 2011 #7 Share Posted May 15, 2011 I used to have this card but not anymore--you are only getting 1% return whereas for ex. on my AMEX card I get 2-5% return in cash which I just as easily could put towards my cruise bill. Check it out carefully!
MagnoliaBlossom Posted May 15, 2011 #8 Share Posted May 15, 2011 Agree that this is not the best card around but I have had problems with some of my vendors not taking Amx and some o the others that offer a greater % back only do it on certain purchases. So, I've stuck with this one since many of my purchases are industrial products. But I suuuuure do miss the old program, big time. I am going to sing my usual song for newbies who have not heard it. This is why you should not use OBC, casino credits, etc: Pay for everything onboard from your card because it is a better deal. Every NCL purchase gives you double points (2%). When you get home get a cash transfer to your checking account and pay off your credit card with that money. You will get twice the benefit, point wise if you do that. If, however you do not have at least 25,000 points you may not get the best deal because at lower amounts cash back is at a ration of less than 1%. MagnoliaBlossom Posted May 16, 2011 #10 Share Posted May 16, 2011 Just keep on using the card and in time you will. You did not say if your card is new, but if so you should receive 10,000 points for new caard members. Sometimes it takes a month or two to show up. Enjoy (whenever)!
