Cruise, J.D. Posted May 17, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 17, 2011 Stopping in Nassau in a few weeks. Could someone please tell me how to get to Cabbage Beach? Thanks. Just take a cab. It would be quite a walk from the cruise terminal. It is on Paradise Island.
CarolRoy Posted May 17, 2011 #3 Share Posted May 17, 2011 Stopping in Nassau in a few weeks. Could someone please tell me how to get to Cabbage Beach? Thanks. We were just there on a cruise May 11. It's too hot and humid to walk there. It's over the bridge near the Atlantis. We took a taxi from the port for $4 each and asked the driver to take us to CB. He left us off at the entrance to CB. There is a sign. Just walk down the path to the beach. We were there for a few hours. CB was beautiful. There is quite a bit of erosion. Water was very rough. Could not get in past the breakers. Just got in a few feet up to our knees then it dropped off considerably. Some shade which we took advantage of. They do rent umbrellas. Locals were charging $25 for an umberlla and $20 for chairs. We just laid on the ships towels in the shade. Then we walked on the beach to the Atlantis. We did manage to get on the Atlantis property from the beach (although their security was present - we just kept on walking liked we were guests of the property even though they were calling to us).Guests had wristbands. We even used the foot shower on their property. All we did was walked to the casino - nothing special. Then we walked down to the ferry and took the ferry back to the ship for $3 each. You can also take a taxi back to the ship. 2011 – Nieuw Amsterdam HAL – Oct. – Mediterranean 2011- Carnival Miracle – May – Eastern Caribbean 2010 – Nieuw Amsterdam HAL - Dec.- W. bobsfamily Posted May 18, 2011 #5 Share Posted May 18, 2011 Thanks so much. Are you just set on CB? Scubagirl says that Junkanoo Beach is cleaned up and much better than before. It is in walking distance, has no erosion, chairs were like $5 (I think). In past I would not have suggested this beach but now that it is cleaned up a great alternative within walking distance. You can also get a day pass from several resorts from the all-inclusive Breezes to the Sheraton or Wyndham. Some are offered thru your ship but are cheaper from the resort itself.
