Are the seas rough in Hawaii in May?

I've read several posts regarding how seasick people were for most of their cruise especially to and from Fanning Island. Any info would make me feel better about this, I never gave it a thought before since most of our other cruises were to the Carribean.Returing from Mexico, San Diego to San Fransisco last fall was pretty rocky, and I was not feeling too good that day. The thought of 4 days at sea like that is scary.

May is usually not that bad. Having said that, you WILL be in the open ocean which does tend to be more rocky than cruises in the Caribbean, Alaska, Mediterranean, etc.

I went in May of 2003 and I didnt feel I think. I was perfectly well and so was my hubby (who FYI is the first one to complain).

 

I went on the Carnival Spirit.
