Hotel near Vatican

I will be in Rome one day before a cruise. We would like to stay within walking distance to the Vatican. I did a search here and on trip advisor and found a few. I am hoping for some advice from someone who is familiar with the hotels or the area. The prices are all in the same range.

One of our shipboard friends stayed at the Alimandi Vaticano and said it was very nice.

 

I chose to stay at a budget hotel, rather than pay the outrageous prices they want for hotels in Europe. It's run by nuns and about 10 blocks from the Vatican. We walked it once (63 and 79 year olds), after that we took a taxi to/from the Vatican. The Ho Ho buses line up in front of the Vatican, and we had purchased a 48 hour pass and used them for sightseeing around Rome. Saved quite a bit of walking time.

 

Here is a link to the hotel, it was clean and we actually had a triple with a balcony for 94 EUR.
