Digital Cameras and Security

Quick question are digital cameras affected by the security screening? it will be in carry on...also what about iPods?????

Cannot respond about iPods, but my digital still camera and digital video camera have been through the screening multiple times without any adverse affects...

A digital camers should not be affected by passing through the x-ray machine. However, I would not walk through the metal detector with any memory cards in my pockets.

Brought my iPod mini through security fine. Nothing happened to it.

Never had a problem with my iPod or digital cameras going through security. For some strange reason, they made me take my digital video camera out of the carry-on. Anyone know why?? Also, the laptop has to be taken out of the carry-on before it can go through security. I never did ask why.

never had a problem with my iPod (1st generation!) through security. The only times I've had trouble with it is when I'm flying I notice that the battery life drops dramatically. I fly from NY-FL and back a couple times a year and when I'm back on the ground, the battery is usually close to being dead. It's always been like this even when it was new. I don't know if the altitude/cabin pressure has something to do with it...
