I can't believe it...a snowstorm heading our way tonight. We've got a 7:10 am flight out tomorrow. Thank goodness we planned on going down a day early...ya just never know what Minnesota weather will bring ya.

Keeping our fingers crossed the weatherman is wrong (again) this time.

Just checked channel 58. Most recently it says 3-4 inches by late tonight. Then starting back up "late morning" tomorrow with additional accumulations of 5-8 inches. Sounds like this won't even be a blip in the radar for your flight out in the morning!

Enjoy!!!

Yea!!!! And us Minnesotans do a great job of getting around with the snow. But where is that pilot from? A half an inch in some places shuts down whole cities. LOL.

Can't wait to be sitting in shorts, a drink in hand, the sun beating down, and calling home to see who shoveled the driveway.

LOL that is sooo true! Plus it seems like some airlines will still fly while others will delay!

Hey folks, good luck. We had our go round with snow last week where we got over 20 inches. Even though it's melting this week, the city is still having to scrape the roads. There is still a snow pack of 2 feet. 5-8 inches is a nuisance around here.

You never know about flights out of Minneapolis/St. Paul, but usually you can count on being late if A) your plane has been sitting all night and you leave really early in the a.m. or B) if your plane originates from some other city and isn't scheduled to get to MSP by late morning.

They do a pretty good job of getting off the ground unless it's real snowy AND real windy.

The March snowstorms are usually heavy and wet, so if they get the runways cleared, they get the flights going.

In January, when the temp is below zero, it's hard to get the runways cleared during a snow storm, so travel is a bit more iffy.

I would say this: MSP does a better job than East Coast airports. The East Coast always seem to be bogged down during snowstorms. We went on a cruise two years ago and nearly 1,000 passengers didn't make it because of the big storm in New England and New York (this was Feb. of 2003). I don't recall the MSP airport being closed for more than a few hours at any time over the past few years (but could be wrong). Of course, they probably get much bigger dumps on the eastern seaboard than we do.

Bottom line, as many have said: Get to your cruise a day early. Don't risk it.
