clr0806 Posted June 2, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2011 Trying to decide between a coastal tour which would include several towns and the "Nut" or Cradle Mountain/Dove lake with a stop in Sheffield the town of murals. What would you do?
BrusselsGirl07 Posted June 3, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 3, 2011 What are the towns you would visit along with the nut at stanley? The Nut is nice, views are great and the birdlife as well: http://www.stanleytasmania.com.au/thenut.html?gclid=CLj40PTVmKkCFQnwbwodQwz0tw Cradle Mountain is beautiful, as well as the lake, lots of wildlife around. I grew up in Sheffield - it is a little picturesque country town in the shadow of Mount Roland and some of the old brick walls of buildings have been painted with murals, most of which are very good: http://sheffieldcradleinfo.com.au/pages/sheffield/ Either tour would be nice, but Cradle Mountain is gorgeous. clr0806 Posted June 3, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted June 3, 2011 Travel via Table Cape through boat harbor then the Nut followed by Stanley and Dip falls?
BrusselsGirl07 Posted June 3, 2011 #4 Share Posted June 3, 2011 Click in the links on this page for some photos of both Table Cape and Boat Harbour: http://maps.travelmate.com.au/Places/Places.asp?RegionId=100 The coastal towns one should be a very scenic drive. I think I would be more swayed to see Cradle Mountain though. The difference would be that in the coastal towns one you would see the coast and the Cradle Mountain would be more inland with lakes. clr0806 Posted June 3, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted June 3, 2011 I just keep thinking that most of the travel will be in coastal areas and this would be a nice change. Thanks for the link!
