First Formal Night

Last few times we were on X the first formal night also involved a "Cocktail party" before dinner with a classic activity where we queued up had a picture taken with the "Captain" (or his mate!) and then went into the theatre before dinner - does that still happen. I have to say I have the most wonderful pic from the Century of DH looking like a Muppet - just needed that speech balloon so if your here, who is the driver added to it

I think I read somewhere they had changed that and that you had to sign up for any pics with members of the crew

 

 

PS I am not desparate for a pic with the Captain just curious, however, if he is good looking I could be persuaded!! :D

When was the last time you were on Celebrity? The Captain's welcome aboard cocktail party on the first formal night on our last couple of Celebrity cruises (03 & 04) did not have the captain at the door posing for pictures as in the past.

However, he was doing that at the Captains club party.

Our are just completed Infinity cruise, Simon Weir(CD) explained that they are no longer doing the cocktail party but a welcome aboard toast in the Celebrity Theatre before that night's show instead. That is what we experienced, with free wine and champange handed out at the door as you enter for the show. The Captain come on the stage and said a few words.

 

They still had the cocktail party for Captain's Club members on another formal night.
