darlou Posted June 12, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2011 Going to Bermuda for the first time in July on Royal Carribean out of New Jersey on Explorer of the Seas. Heard Horse Shoe Beach is the place to go. Is it better to get a cab at the dock on your own or go on the Cruise excursion. Also is there activity within walking distance of the dock.Any help or recommendations appreciated. Thanks
william Posted June 12, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2011 Where is your ship docking? If you are at the dockyard they have special buses that take you directly to the beach. Last year we bought a two day pass and used it on the ferry and bus. After the beach we walked up the hill and waited about five minutes and a bus took us back to the dockyard. Cabs are very expensive and the buses and ferrys are good.

kuddles14 Posted June 13, 2011 #4 Share Posted June 13, 2011 we are docking at Kings Wharf with Royal caribbean. I booked the excursion through Royal and have found out that you can also take a cab for 6pp, or a bus. I will be cancelling this excursion. njhorseman Posted June 13, 2011 #6 Share Posted June 13, 2011 can you get a cab outside the dock and is 6 dollars the standard price per person. Thanks Taxis are available adjacent to the pier. $6 is a group ride rate per person...the driver is going to fill his taxi with up to six passengers. If you want your own private cab just for you or you and one or two others in your party, the ride is going to be metered and much more expensive.
