We will be on the Navigator on our next cruise in Jan. 2006. Me being the typical organizer, am trying to find out thing that we can do while we are in San Juan.

We arrive at 2pm ship time. From what I can figure out that will be 4pm San Juan time. We really wanted to do a walking tour and see El Morro etc but it will be getting dark by the time we get there.

I've heard that San Juan is not safe at night.

Does anyone know what are the best things for us to do while we are in port?

Thanks, Paula

Can't help you with the darkness issue but I have been researching San Juan as well and found the following walking tour. I have seen guided tours but I wanted to walk at my own pace. I plan on following this route with some modifications. Good luck!

If you are going in Jan. Puerto Rico is one hour ahead as well as the rest of the caribbean. They stay on Atlantic time year round. I believe the ship will make you change the clock one hour ahead the night before you get into San Juan. There is a popular night tour offered, check the boards. Also if you want you can take a cab into the isla verde area and check out the different hotels and casinos.
