Questions for recent Amsterdam cruisers re:Pier 91

We would like to find out if taxis are easily available when disembarking, or should we pre-arrange a taxi, shuttle or limo? Would rather just "take our chances" if taxis are there, rather than worrying about meeting a pre-booked service. There are only 2 of us.

Also, was "luggage direct" (service directly from ship to home airport) available on the cruise, specifically for Alaska Airlines?

Thanks for any info!:)

We weren't on the Amsterdam, be we did recently disembark from Oosterdam at Pier 91. As we were waiting for our hotel shuttle, there were numerous cabs/vans that we could have hired as well. At one point, we were concerned that we would have to get a second car & driver to get the 4 of us, with all our luggage, back to Renton.

No info on Luggage Direct, unfortunately. We were lucky to be close enough to drive to Seattle.

I don't know if 'luggage direct' was available for Alaska Airlines but it was definitely available for American, Delta, Continental so I would think it would be available for Alaska airlines.

We used the service and it was wonderful to put our bags outside our door on the last night and not see them again until we reached our final destination airport.

That 14 day Alaska Adventure on the Amsterdam is AWESOME!

We used a limo service but I did see lots of taxis available.
