Whats the differance

Hi All,Is the UK rights on HAL ships the same as everyone elses,reason being i have noticed that if someone gets the differance in onboard credit or refund if the price goes down it always seems that they are not from the UK/ is the policy differant,?Has anyone from the UK had any discounts or on board credits,if so how did you go about it, Hope to get some good advice as not sailed with HAL before,

Not that it makes it right, but I did read a year or so ago, that one cruise line stated, to justify pricing. 'All things cost more in the UK'.

If you book in the UK on UK terms and conditions, they can be very different from those applicable to bookings made in other countries. Comparing UK and US T&C, UK bookings have to pay a non-refundable deposit on booking; whereas US deposits are typically fully refundable before the date on which the payment of the balance is due. So as US passengers can cancel and rebook for no penalty, they can get the full benefit of any later price drop. It's only worth a UK passenger's while if the price drop is more than the deposit which will be forfeited.

 

There are some good reasons why bookings made in the UK are on different terms from those made in the US.

 

However, there are no good reasons why someone who's in the UK can't be allowed to choose whether to make their booking in the UK or in the US, and to accept the pros and cons of their choice.
