Do holiday sailings fill up quickly?

We're looking at an S-class Christmas sailing in 2012 and will book several rooms. I'm trying to decide whether to book now during the Captains Club promotion and save $200 per cabin or book on board when I sail on Azamara in 3 months to get the reduced deposit and OBCs and category upgrades.

Right now, the cabin selection is wide open, but I have no idea how popular these sailings are other than seeing there is a big cost premium to sail at that time.

Any thoughts?

We booked a Christmas 14 night on Eclipse for 2012 and wonder the same thing. It is from 12/15 to 12/29. I wonder if there will be a lot of children being that it is a 14 night and if it will book quickly (well, not now but next year)?

We grabbed a hump cabin with the extended balcony, a 1A, thinking that it might be gone if we waited. We transferred our PC cruise to this one (we booked on board in April).

Thanks for starting the thread, OP. Hope you don't mind me riding along.;)
