Lamanai Tour with Princess vs Xunantunich

Hi all!

On our upcoming cruise in January, we will be visiting Belize for the first time and we are big fans of history, nature, seeing the sites of a country, etc. We would love to visit some of the Mayan ruins. We would like to do a tour with our ship, Princess, because we want to ensure that we make it back in time for the ship.

Princess offers tours for both Lamanai and Xunantunich, has anyone taken either tour? We like the idea of the boat ride to lamanai and I hear that the ruins at both sites are impressive. I also like the idea of the nice view into Guatemala at Xunantunich that I've read about. On either excursion, for the lunch portion of things, will there be any vegetarian options?

I'd love to hear from anyone who has been on either tour or both, especially the Princess organized ones! Thanks!

I've done Xanatunich thru CCL and it's a nice tour. Climbing the main temple is challenging, but one is rewarded with great views. The lunch was chicken and rice and beans. Lamanai is supposed to be even bigger and more impressive. Google each name for pictures of the ruins.
