I assume you mean the one on SE 17th St... http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/ex/1/en/hd/fllcc

I haven't been inside that one, but it looks nice on the outside. It's a no frills hotel, I don't even think there's a pool, but the location is perfect! It's 10-12 minutes from the airport and just outside the entrance to Port Everglades. The area is safe and there are are many many restaurants and shops within easy walking distance.

I had considered the Holdiay Inn Express on 17th street a couple of years ago and I made a phone call to enquire about a pool and they said no they did not have one....

We walked it bad knee and all. It's probably 1 mile. The water taxi is really great!. They claim its supposed to be used for just that, but everyone on our taxi was there for sightseeing, mostly. The driver points out all the houses and yachts that are owned by famous people.

Don, I'm not sure if you're referring to the Amerisuites, or Holiday Inn Express, but both of them are definitely within walking distance. The Holiday Inn Express is actually quite a bit closer to the Water Taxi than the Amerisuites, but it's not all that far from Amerisuites either.

Yes, there's a new Publix (grocery store) in a brand new rather large strip mall actually. This is behind the Embassy Suites. There are many many restaurants on SE 17th Street. The Outback Steakhouse and Cafe Del-Rio Tex-Mex restaurants are both right next door to the Amerisuites - just off of SE 17th Street, but there are a large number of other restaurants along SE 17th Street, easily and safely within walking distance to any of the hotels.
