How does one book an inaugural or maiden transatlantic voyage on these new ships? I know they haven't even cut the steel yet, but I noticed Celebrity's new ship Reflection that is not yet built has dates for bookings already. Just curious, as I would like to book on the one coming out spring of 2013.

My guess is that booking will probably open in the Fall of 2012

Norwegian said that they predict to release the cruises and prices for the new ships in October, 2011.

Breakaway departs Southampton on 30th April 2013 for a seven nighter to New York.

Meyer Werft in Germany. Initial transatlantic will leave Southampton.

Booking opened to TA's Monday October 10th, Latitudes members October 14th, general public october 17th.

These are some prices I got from NCL this morning for the maiden TA 4/30/13.

 

Studio: $1592.53 incl tax and insurance ($109)

Inside: lowest cat single occ $1691, double occ $1846 total.

 

Considering we sailed last month in a BA for $1000 total per person, I'm just trying to decide if any of these is worth it just to say I was on the first sailing. An Epic TA at this point would be much less, but I didn't like Epic.

Just for grits and shins, for the TA, I got the following quotes:

S5- ~ $4900 pp

S7- ~ $4600 pp (seems odd that the bigger cabin is cheaper, but maybe forward is the reason)

S9- ~ $4500 pp

This is one expensive ship.
