bruceh Posted June 30, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 30, 2011 We are going on the Canada/New England cruise on Oct 14/11,leaving from Quebec City.Having never been there, can anyone that has give us some suggestions for reasonable priced accomodation near the cruise ship facility? We will be arriving late evening,so it is just a stopping off point before boarding the ship the next day. Thanks Bruce H.
maryann ns Posted June 30, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 30, 2011 The ship will talk in the Lower Town which is a great location, but reasonably priced accommodation may be hard to find there. Are you arriving by plane, train or car? You may want to stay closer to where you arrive and then take a taxi or bus to the ship. TripAdvisor will help you find places to stay. Look for the "search by neighborhood feature": http://www.tripadvisor.ca/HACSearch?geo=155033&q=Quebec+City%2C+Quebec%2C+Canada

travelbig Posted June 30, 2011 #4 Share Posted June 30, 2011 Or go to a site like booking.com. Enter in Quebec City,CA and your date and the hotels close to the pier will be close to Boulevard Champlain from the ferry ramp north to Quai Saint-Andre (click on show map). Keep in mind the prices are in Canadian dollar. If you want to save the conversion fees for the charges you make in Canada, get a Capital One Venture Card. maryann ns Posted June 30, 2011 #5 Share Posted June 30, 2011 The airport is close to Blvd Wilfred Hamel and there are lots of low to medium priced places to stay there. http://maps.google.ca/maps?q=hotels&hl=en&ll=46.786662,-71.367874&spn=0.027622,0.084543&sll=46.786662,-71.367874&sspn=0.027622,0.084543&radius=2.4&z=
Twickenham Posted June 30, 2011 #6 Share Posted June 30, 2011 Taxis from the airport to the downtown area are at a fixed $32.50 rate. See here for more information. You have the option of either staying near the airport, with its less-expensive modern motels/hotels (and with quite a few restaurants), or stay nearer the port, which is in Old Québec and where the accommodation will be more charming, but more expensive. Another option you might want to consider is flying into Montreal, which could be cheaper. You could then either take a bus or the train to Québec's Gare du Palais, which is much more convenient to the port than the airport (in a pinch, it's walkable). Here is a list of the boutique-style hotels within easy walking distance of the cruise terminal: Hotel Port Royal Hotel Dominion 1912 Hotel%2071"]Hotel 71 Auberge Saint-Pierre auberge%20saint-antoine"]Auberge Saint-Antoine[/url] Hotel Le Priori Here are the hotels near the airport that I would recommend: Hotel Le Comfortel Château Repotel Duplessis Grand Times Hotel Hotel Must Comfort Inn Airport East
Seabreeze8 Posted July 3, 2011 #7 Share Posted July 3, 2011 The ship facility is close to the Old Town which means higher prices. If you are willing to try Priceline, we got Best Western Plus City Centre for $80 US plus taxes a night. It is a 3* hotel and got good ratings on booking.com and Tripadvisor, if you don't mind 15 minute walk to Old Town. I believe there are city bus stops nearby.
