bakerintn Posted July 1, 2011 #2 Share Posted July 1, 2011 We did it two years ago. However, we did it after the fact when we returned, and that took a while, but they gave us our money back on site. In that case we needed the car placard and a drivers license to match....so if you plan on using this benefit, have the person whose name is on the license plate registration / placard bring their drivers license on the trip, even if they are not driving. I don't know how it works when you are departing, but hopefully others here will chime in. Here is the info from the port of Miami web site: Is there a cost for parking if you are disabled? Disabled parking in all the terminal parking facilities at the Port of Miami is free. However, in order for the parking fees to be waived, appropriate documentation must be provided to the Toll Attendant upon exiting the parking garage. Disabled Parking Checklist / Required Documents ____ State Issued: Driver's License/I.D. Card/Passport ____ Original Parking Sales Receipt/Parking Ticket Stub (No Copies) ____ Authentic Disability Placard/Permanent Disability License Plate ____ Proof of Sailing (Sailing Card or Original Purchased Ticket Issued from the Cruise Line) ____ Letter/Card from DMV-(Dept. of Motor Vehicles) signifying who the Disability Placard is Assigned to (NOTE: applies to states that do not have a Driver's License # on placard!)
