adios Posted March 20, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 20, 2005 From where the bus drops you off, how far of a walk is it to Tapas?
davidaperryman Posted March 21, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 21, 2005 Everything is within a block or two of where the bus lets you off.
evildiva Posted March 21, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 21, 2005 No it is not... Tapas is about 1 1/2 miles from pier. Walk thru the shopping village and you will see sign for taxis, follow them and you can take a cab for 3.00 per person to get there 2.00 per person to get back. I would not recommend walking from the pier as it is very rural, not developed and it may make you a little nervous to walk. Tapas is the best!! Once you get out of the taxi tapas will be on the right side just a little ways down. This was the best day of our cruise....enjoy, they have an excellent staff there!!! AlwaysReady2Go Posted March 21, 2005 #5 Share Posted March 21, 2005 The question was how far from where the bus drops you is Tapas. Yes, it is just a short walk from where the bus drops you in the center of town. Have fun!
SS Strider Posted March 22, 2005 #6 Share Posted March 22, 2005 Quick Question: Is there a beach for sunning and swimming near Tapas? We'll be in Costa Maya April 25 during our sailing on Sensation, and can't wait to visit Tapas for delicious food and cold Negra Modelo's! We see that the beach area near Tapas is beautiful, but after lunch and drinks, is there anywhere in the village of Mahahual where we can spend time sunning and swimming? We really, really, really try to avoid cruise line excursions, and would prefer to do this entirely on our own. We're happy to rent some beach chairs if that's what it takes. Thanks in advance, everyone! What a great message board!

Guest Crazeecat5 Posted March 22, 2005 #8 Share Posted March 22, 2005 Hi SS Strider, I see you will be on the April 23 Sensation cruise. We have a small thread going on Carnival roll calls. Why not join us? Would love to hear from you. Sheryl
davidaperryman Posted March 22, 2005 #9 Share Posted March 22, 2005 Where the bus drops you off there is a dirt road thru the village. The buildings are on the right the beach is on the left. The beach side has chairs, lounges, tables and is served by the restaurants across the street. Lots of swimming, sun, food and drinks available. No charge if you buy food or drinks.
