Can anyone tell me how the ship is ? How's the food and so forth ?

If you go to the following link you can click on quite a few threads that give recent reviews of the Zuiderdam and will be able to answer questions you have of her. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/search.php?searchid=22427827

If you still have questions ask away:)

If you go into "Edit your signature", you can scroll down to where the URLs are for the countdown clocks. Then you can highlight and delete the one that's incorrect.

We sailed on the Zuiderdam in 2008 and we really enjoyed the ship! It was our first experience with a Vista-class ship, and we thought it was great! :)

We sailed on the Z in June. She was in good condition with only a little wear showing in a few places - nothing you wouldn't expect on a ship that has 2000 passengers each week. We weren't impressed with the food, but found enough to eat to gain a few pounds. The Lido buffet had a good number of tables allowing us to find a place to eat without much trouble. The service showed that the crew is stretched thin and trying to do too much. e.g. From day to day there were things that didn't get done in our cabin, not the same thing each day, just some different little thing got skipped each day. They seemed to be a bit disorganized when it came to giving directions with different responses from varying individuals, e.g. the front desk telling us where to go to get wheelchairs to debark, but the cruise director announcing something different. We loved our cruise though!
