DublinLass Posted July 3, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2011 What type of electrical sockets do they have on Navitgator. Are they American or European, 2 pin flat or round or 3 pin? Also do you have a review with pictures of the Eastern Euopean cruise

cruiseguy1016 Posted July 3, 2011 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2011 I am fairly certain that ALL RCI ships have both U.S. and European plugs on their ships.
TravelerThom Posted July 3, 2011 #4 Share Posted July 3, 2011 I am fairly certain that ALL RCI ships have both U.S. and European plugs on their ships.Correct - and the US sockets have 110 volt service and the European sockets have 220 volt service. Since most people feel that there is a shortage of sockets in the cabins, note that most current electronics operate on low voltage [20 volts or less] but have voltage converters built in and can be plugged into either 110 or 220. I take a US to European adapter plug, and plug my camera battery charger into the 220 socket, leaving the US socket free for other uses. Also note that many "110 volt" hairdryers are three speed [Hi/Med/Low], and they will operate on 220 volt provided that you leave it on LOW [this will give the equivalent of High output; if you set the switch higher you will burn the hairdryer out]. This is the US perspective; similar work arounds can be done for 220 volt equipment. Thom
