Copenhagen Freeport Cruise Pier to Airport

Recommended Posts

Can previous travelers please advise? What is the most economical form of non-stop transportation from the Freeport Cruise Pier to CPH airport? We will be getting off the NCL Sun on a Sunday and we understand the #26 bus does not run on Sunday. Does that leave us with only a taxi as direct transportation? There are two of us, DH is 75, and we'd like to make this as easy as possible, without breaking the bank. If a taxi is the only hassle-free way, how huge a sum should we expect to pay? We may look into NCL transfers if they will be cheaper.

We took a taxi from the airport (CHP) to the cruise port and it cost 330 DKK (approx $63 US dollars. Easiest way to go...and doesn't break the bank and they help you with your luggage, etc. You don't really want to drag it on the bus, do you?

You can take a S-train (direction Køge, Hundige, Høje Taastrup, Ballerup and/or Frederikssund) from Nordhavn station to Nørreport and take Metro line M2 to the airport.

Or change train at Østerport, Nørreport or København H (central Station) and take a train towards the airport or Malmö and get of at the airport.

This will only cost you 36 DKK for one person.

We opted for the $30 ship's transfer. We had a lot of baggage and needed a large van if we took a taxi and were concerned those would be few and far between. For the four of us this was the least stressful way to go. The transfers left at several preset times and worked very smoothly.

We could see the train (metro) from the ship, so we walked to it, got tickets from a machine with a debit card, changed to the airport train at the main train station. I'd say 35 - 45 minutes after we got off the ship we were at the airport. A local person helped us decide what ticket to buy, although I did finally see a sign saying something about you need the 2 zone ticket to get to the airport from that station. I think it was about $7 USD each. Of course, we had easy rolling luggage...
