Flying out of NOLA

We have booked a cruise on the Voyager in Feb 2012. Have found a good deal on a flight that departs at 11 AM. I am concerned that we might not get to the airport on time. Does anyone have any experience with dealing with departure and transfer to airport in New Orleans on a Saturday. Mardi Gras will be over.

The airport is roughly 15 miles from the port (port is in downtown NOLA and the airport is in a suburb called Kenner). If you express walk off and clear customs fairly quickly and traffic isn't too heavy (I-10 has been under construction for years and that may slow things down), you might make it. I would try for a later flight, if possible. Hope this helps.
