PATRIOTSRULE Posted July 14, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2011 I am looking to buy a $200-$300 waterproof digital camera for our cruise. I want it to be a camera that I can take pictures with for everyday and night use. My one now is not waterproof and is a little too big. Looking for something easy to carry. Does anyone know about the Fuji waterproof cameras? Any suggestions as to what is a good quality waterproof digital camera?
April-in-NC Posted July 14, 2011 #2 Share Posted July 14, 2011 I have an Olympus Stylus 350 SW and it takes good daylight and underwater pictures and does not "look" waterproof (not bulky at all!). Night pictures are going to be tricky with any pocket camera... Lots of folks on the photo boards recommend the Canon D10 but it may be too bulky to serve as an everyday camera. Check out the photo boards for lots of advice and camera reviews!

Talisker92 Posted July 14, 2011 #4 Share Posted July 14, 2011 Believe it or not, I found one at a local drugstore for $26! I was going to pay $20 for a one time film camera, but this one will take 26 pictures and it is reuseable
pythia Posted July 14, 2011 #5 Share Posted July 14, 2011 Lots of folks on the photo boards recommend the Canon D10 but it may be too bulky to serve as an everyday camera. Check out the photo boards for lots of advice and camera reviews! I have the Canon D10 - yes, it's a little bigger than most point & shoots, but it's built like a little submarine :D and I find that it's easier to handle underwater than some of the tiny cameras. It takes excellent pictures underwater and above and it's not so big that I can't put it in my pocket or tiniest purse. Whichever you choose, I recommend getting a floating wrist strap - just in case you drop it or need to let go of it, any camera is going to sink awfully fast... hellokittyluver Posted July 14, 2011 #6 Share Posted July 14, 2011 I have a Fuji XP10 waterproof camera, I got it at Costco. That was a couple of years ago. Costco now has the Fuji XP20. It's a great camera. Just got back from Hawaii, went snorkeling, took dolphin shots, waterfalls, etc. Excellent camera!:)
chipmaster Posted July 14, 2011 #7 Share Posted July 14, 2011 Two reviews to read thru. The manufactures have upgraded a few of the models but ergo, formfactor and IQ likely still comparable in difference and similarity. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/Q209waterproofgroup/ http://www.popphoto.com/gallery/5-best-waterproof-compact-cameras If price is a factor they are all decent and likely can get for even cheaper refurbed on ebay.
