You definitely want to try and get the same cabin - that's the fun part - not having to pack up that last day and put your luggage out! If however you do need to change cabins I understand the room stewards will help with this!

If you do want to get off the ship to sightsee let them know - and I think you get a special pass for getting back on the ship (and avoiding the crowds embarking for the first time).

Also you get nice presents :D:D

When we did our back to back, we had to move rooms, and the RS moved everything for us, though we did pack it up for him, except the clothes that were hung up. The goodies were nice too, except my wife was pregnant and couldn't enjoy the bottle. :)

Personally, it was nice to have the ship to ourselves for a while, and access to the room before everyone else. A very enjoyable experience if you ask me, and something I will probably do again.

Just out of curiosity, how big is the bottle of Champagne? And what brand?

I will even be happy with a small bottle.

Thanks..

Melanie

Regular size bottle (750 ml) and if I remember correctly more like a sparkling italian wine than a true champagne??

Before I booked I researched which cabins were available for both sailings and then I called a PVP and she helped me set it up. She asked me if we were celebrating any special occasions and I said "only my first back to back";)

I can't wait!

Great info everyone, thank you! I just decided on my first back-to-back today. I've done 4 birthday cruises but had booked for the week after my birthday in February. Today I decided for the money I was going to spend in Miami/South Beach for a few days before the cruise, I could just take another cruise the week of my birthday and make it my first back-to-back and get me to Platinum!

I'm excited! (love the liquor idea!)

How many people would you say stayed on the ship for the next cruise?

Here is a copy of B2B info my old Carnival PVP sent me (she was wonderful but she left after she had a baby :()...

Back-To-Back Cruise

Embarkation/Debarkation Procedures for the Back-to-Back Guest

Customs and Immigration procedures may differ between the various embarkation home ports. However, all BTB guests will have to go through the Customs/Immigration inspection in the cruise terminal at the end of each cruise.

Second Cruise Procedure - First debarkation process and second cruise registration/check-in

All BTB guests will need to present themselves (without luggage) to the Immigration/Customs inspectors located in the terminal at the end of their first cruise. They will gather in a designated area on board the ship as advised by the Guest Services Desk; a Guest Service Rep will escort the BTB guests off the ship as the last disembarking group. These guests will be escorted back on board by the Guest Service Rep and will register/check-in for their second cruise at the Guest Services Desk. At this time, they will receive their new Sail & Sign card. Note: The new Sail & Sign card allows the BTB guest to leave the ship while the ship is docked at the home port (much like a port-of-call).

Second Cruise: Change of Stateroom

If the guest needs to change staterooms for the second cruise, the Guest Services Desk will send a bellboy to the stateroom to assist in moving the luggage to the new stateroom. This needs to be taken care of in the morning during debarkation and prior to the start of embarkation for the second cruise.

PS ~ I have read where many B2B cruisers did NOT have to go through the muster drill twice!!!:D

all the trivia questions & "name that tune" are much easier the second time around! And liquor that you purchase on board after 4:00 or 5:00 pm on the last evening of your first leg can be carried to you cabin for consumption on the second leg.

lol !!!!!! :d

My husband is currently serving in Afghanistan and we will be meeting in November at the Miami airport for our B2B cruise on the Glory. We are so excited. We decided to go all out and booked a suite, we managed to get the same suite for both weeks.

Do we have to settle accounts after the first week or does it just continue onto the second?

I have no idea if you get any perks for having a suite but I hope so , just to make it extra special.

We were thinking while we were on this cruise, we would book a back to back for next year. I heard its only $100. deposit for each cruise and you get $100.00 on board credit. My question is if we book the early saver for both and we have to cancel, can we use the deposit to pay that $50. each to go another time, or is that extra and you lose your deposit for both cruises.? Thanks for your replies/:)

Does anybody know the cheapest cruise line to go on for a back to back around XMAS time? I noticed cruises around that time are a lot more expensive. Thanks for your replies.

Usually Carnival is the least expensive. They're all more expensive during Christmas time though because that's when everyone has time off... If you go a week or two earlier or a couple weeks later there are much better deals.

I think you were given wrong info regarding the $100 Future cruise credit. It is not a deposit. If you get the certificate(s) onboard, you would pay $100 for each, however, they are NOT a deposit for a cruise.

When you book a cruise you would still have to pay the regular deposit, but the $100 goes towards the balance due on a cruise and it also will give you $100 OBC. We bought two of them in April on Dream, and have a cruise booked again on Dream for Feb. We had to pay the full $500 deposit and can use the certificate towards the balance.

If you book Early Saver and cancel, you would have the $50 per person deducted from your regular deposit. I don't know what would happen to your $100 if you have used the certificate towards the balance. I would think Carnival would be able to answer that for you. Perhaps before you buy the certificate you could ask the loyalty person.

BF and I are thinking of booking 4 day out of Miami (10/17-21) since cruise we wanted out of Tampa is sold out. We have time off already so are thinking we may book a 3 day (10/21-24) but don't want to commit to 2nd trip right away. If we book the 3 day while on the ship, how would it work? Both cruises are on the same ship. Would we get any credits/perks for doing it while on the ship :)

I think that may be hard to do? I know they want to have passengers lists in advance of sailings - certain minimum # of days? And then the chances of you getting the cabin you want are slim to none? (ship may be all booked or cabins not to your liking/location/size?).

If you want to make sure you get credits/gifts etc I would recommend booking them before cruising!
