cperk97 Posted July 23, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2011 My husband was just on NCL's website and it says the Java Cafe is complementary. Is this true? I was under the understanding that there was an extra cost for this. Jo Anne
MMMD Posted July 23, 2011 #2 Share Posted July 23, 2011 Any 'specialty coffee' is charged for. Think Starbucks. I was addicted to their Caramel Macchiato (about $4). If you'd like the ships regular coffee, that is free along with all the pastries & cookies on display. The Java Cafe is also a full bar in case you'd like your coffee with a little extra kick. Have fun!

MMMD Posted July 23, 2011 #4 Share Posted July 23, 2011 Someome told me they have little cakes & pastries at no charge. I don't remember this. There is a display case on the left side of the bar (when facing the front) that had different types of cake slices, little pies, pastries and cookies. All are free and you don't need to order a drink of any kind to get them. Sometimes while just walking by we would stop and ask for something. Whatever we got was fresh and delicious and different from what we saw anywhere else. (we only went to the buffet once, so I can't say whether they had the same desserts) I loved that Cafe. Azure Moon Posted July 23, 2011 #5 Share Posted July 23, 2011 I purchased a cappuccino, but I'd forgotten about the goodies. Ah well, the coffee was delicious so there will be another trip to the coffee bar one day...and I won't be forgetting the pastries again! :p:D
kirschstra Posted July 25, 2011 #6 Share Posted July 25, 2011 No, it is not complementary. But if you like good coffee you will be more than willing to pay for it. The free coffee is not good.
