NCL - Hawaii - Dec 20, 2011 - Who Else?

Made the decision last night to join this cruise in December. Neither one of us has ever been to Hawaii (hard to imagine!) so we've decided it's time to go.

 

Flying in Dec 8th and staying at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa before the cruise and then staying there Dec 17th when we disembark before flying to San Francisco for three days. After SF, we're back to Houston.

 

Has anyone stayed at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa? If so, what did you think of the hotel and surroundings?

 

Using air miles to fly roundtrip from Houston. Got that reserved as well.

 

Now comes the fun part of trying to determine what to do at each port. We're both Activity 1 level excursion people but it looks like there is plenty to do anyway.

 

We're open to joining small independent groups or taking NCL tours. Will have to explore the Shore Excursion threads to see what's going on. If you are setting up small independing tours and need 2 people to join your group, let us know.

We have been tossing around the idea of renting a care in each port and doing "our own thing" but am not sure about that. It would be more enjoyable if we could team up with another couple of like interests. Anyone considering driving instead of taking tours?

 

We're reading the information about the NCL tours and also investigating independing tour companies in each port.

What are you finding for independent tours companies?

 

We would like to get a small group together for independent tours, so if you are interested in getting a group together, let's exchange emails and what we're interested in doing.

 

There is definately not a lack of things to do and see on each island! What a great trip this will be.
