golfer1966 Posted July 27, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 27, 2011 When we purchased this cruise we were told the late seating was full and they waitlisted us and put us on MTD....well, why do you like MTD?? I am kinda partial to the Late Seating so we can chill out after a long day in Port and take our time and not having to rush to get to dinner. Your thoughts? In My Time Dining, you can make a standing reservation for a certain time each night. If you like late seating, you can make a reservation for 8:00 or 8:30 or any other time every night. Puffinater Posted July 27, 2011 #3 Share Posted July 27, 2011 With late seating not available a standing 8:30 MTD reservation would get you the same thing minus the same table mates.

hgmizzou Posted July 27, 2011 #5 Share Posted July 27, 2011 We loved MTD. It's not that we don't want to meet other people, but we wanted a table for 2 and MTD was great for that. We made our reservations in advance, never had to wait and REALLY enjoyed our experience. It was great having the flexibility to make our dining times work for us and not be scheduled by RCCL. ENJOY!! :)
negc Posted July 27, 2011 #6 Share Posted July 27, 2011 The beauty of MTD is that if you really like one of the two traditional dining times and find that they are closed to you, you can replicate the same times with MTD and if you don't want to dine at the same time every evening you can do that as well. And RCI manages to do it without those infernal beepers that Princess employs to such a great degree.:)

mtsnd1900 Posted July 27, 2011 #8 Share Posted July 27, 2011 Once your booking window opens for dining reservations (online) you can go on and make a reservation for each nigh, and there is an option for same time every night. We like to alternate based on show times, departure times from ports, sea days and formal nights. The MTD (and 4 for fee places we chose) allow us to make a more custom schedule which we can adjust at any time. Only downfall is different wait staff / table mates nightly, which, may not be a bad thing.
DonnaK Posted July 27, 2011 #9 Share Posted July 27, 2011 You can make a reservation online in advance of your cruise. Did you get on the waitlist for late traditional? The waitlist was full for our sailing, but I called back several times (a few weeks apart) and eventually was able to get on it. Then within a few days of final payment, we cleared the wait list and got traditional.
