Trying to decide on a Beach Activity

We are currently trying to decide on the best beach activity for our family. We are travelling with another family and between us there will be 4 adults and 5 kids. The kids range is ages 3, 6, 7, 9, 15.

The options that we have looked at are:

Take a cab to Paradise Beach

Pros - little money up front, only pay for cab and $12 wrist band for kids

Cons - food, drinks etc. are not included

Beach Break through Carnival - Playa Maya

Pros - still relatively inexpensive ($112 for family of 5), open bar

Cons - still have to rent a cab, not great reviews about the beach area

Beach Break Deluxe through Carnival - Playa Maya

Pros - all inclusive and includes transportation

Cons - most expensive $268 for family of 5.

There is also the Isla Passion option, but I have read that people prefer Playa Maya.

I'm looking for opinions about experience you had had. I expect that I will pay about the same regardless of where I go after I factor in the extra costs so I am really looking for the best experience.

Two or 3 of your kids will likely be too small/young to enjoy the toys that come with the $12 wrist bands at Paradise without constant attention from a parent - will you get your $12 each of enjoyment out of that?

You might look at the AI option at Mr. Sanchos or Nachi Cocom. Water toys and a pool and a nice beach at Mr. Sanchos. No water toys, but a very quiet and relaxing beach, along with a pool (w/swim-up bar) at Nachi. Both places have good food, drinks and service - we prefer Nachi.

I would choose one of the above or go with your Paradise beach option before going on either Playa Mia excursion. Good luck! :)
