klutz13 Posted August 1, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 1, 2011 I saw a reference on John Heald's facebook page that the Spirit will be going into dry dock. Does anyone know if this is true and if so, when this will be?

klutz13 Posted August 1, 2011 Author #6 Share Posted August 1, 2011 Thanks. I knew I would get a faster reply here than asking over on the Carnival site.
spencercoop Posted August 2, 2011 #7 Share Posted August 2, 2011 I know for sure that she is getting a WaterWorks park. Not sure what else she is getting though.

PCHENG Posted August 2, 2011 #9 Share Posted August 2, 2011 I will be on the Spirit next May for her Alaska trip. New Serenity area would be nice. I would love to watch the scenery go by while curled up in one of the clamshells with a nice cup of Joe. As for the new waterwork, I doubt it will even be open considering its early May in Alaska we are talking. Barring some crazy good weather, it will likely stayed closed the entire trip. dadof2boys Posted August 2, 2011 #10 Share Posted August 2, 2011 Really? I am so excited, my boys will freaking love this. I wonder will they will put it. This makes me even more sad to be losing this ship. I wish they would send the Splendor down under and let me keep my Spirit.
cdamion Posted August 2, 2011 #11 Share Posted August 2, 2011 I know for sure that she is getting a WaterWorks park. Not sure what else she is getting though. Just curious - how do you know that for sure? I was thinking of switching from Spirit to Splendor, but if she is going to have the waterpark, I will stay on Spirit for the sake of the kids. I was thinking of switching from Spirit to Splendor, but if she is going to have the waterpark, I will stay on Spirit for the sake of the kids. i am going on her next year and all the catalogues we have here in australia advertising her advise of 2 watersides and a giant dump bucket. i'd say tho there would be at least one more dry dock before she heads my way tho.. gotta change the power plugs, slot machines, etc.
Linsuesue Posted August 2, 2011 #13 Share Posted August 2, 2011 They wouldn't put the same ship in drydock twice in one year would they? 2 weeks doesn't seem like enough time to revamp and get so much done before moving the ship to Australia later next year. It seems like there are a bunch of other Carnival ships coming up on dry docks too-number of things changed must depend on their checkbook balance! JaniceB Posted August 2, 2011 #18 Share Posted August 2, 2011 The e-brochure does say take the ultimate plunge at Carnival Waterworks and that it is being built just for the Aussies.

spencercoop Posted August 2, 2011 #20 Share Posted August 2, 2011 Would someone refresh my memory, does the Spirit have an outdoor theatre? Thanks Nope. The Fantasy and Spirit class ships are the only ships that don't have them.
dadof2boys Posted August 3, 2011 #21 Share Posted August 3, 2011 Ok, so I have studied that e-brochure and definitely see the waterworks area (where the children's pool used to be, still didn't seem big enough for a whole waterworks area, but I am sure I must not be remembering the size correctly) Anyhow, no where on there do I see a serenity area. Anyone else? I could have missed it.
JaniceB Posted August 3, 2011 #22 Share Posted August 3, 2011 I didn't see a serenity area or any mention of it either.
