Pre-pay for Casino credit

I usually bring a large amount of cash for the casino (around $5k) and was wondering if the casino credit you can pre-pay for is only good for the machines or can it also be used on the table games? I would love to pre-pay for this and get points on my credit card if it's possible.

It's cash money greenbacks Uncle Sam's best :):). You will receive vouchers in your cabin which you then redeem at the casino cage. Do whatever you wish with it.

I always buy casino credit rather than take cash. You can redeem it when you need it. It has worked very well for me. You do not need to use it for the casino. You can use it for onshore purchases. You can even use it at the end of the cruise to pay part or all of your on board account.

Where do you purchase this?
On the Princess website /Onboard Experience/Gifts section

http://www.princess.com/learn/onboard/gifts_services/onboard_credit/Index.jsp

Call Princess to order. There is a form somewhere that you can download and fax to Princess, but I have never done that.

It's immediately charged to your credit/debit/whatever card as a purchase (not a cash advance). No fees, no tricks, no gimmicks.

You can go to the official Princess web site and in the search box type in gift and it will take you to a screen and then click on gifts and services and that will bring up the menu for things you can purchase. You can down load a form or you can call princess directly to purchase gifts. You will need you booking # travel dates and name of ship. if you have the Princess rewards Visa you will get twice the rewards points that can be converted to onboard credit , balcony breakfast etc.

I forgot to mention this: when you purchase, be sure to ask for an email confirmation. That way, if there is any discrepancy when you board, you have proof of purchase. The sales rep is supposed to ask if you want one, but I have heard that occasionally they neglect to do this.

Which is why I fax mine and don't do it over the phone. Sometimes they send a confirmation; sometimes they send it to your TA. I have my fax copy and I also have my credit card charge.

Has anybody from UK arranged casino credits by phoning Princess in UK?

Yes I have. :) I called Princess to arrange. They sell in £50 multiples - you usually get the going rate, although if you booked at a time when the dollar was high against the £ they would honour that rate.

The vouchers were in the stateroom on arrival, in our case in multiples of $100. Just take them to the cage when you wish to exhange for cash (with passport) and they will give you the dollars. You don't have to spend the cash in the casino.

They have a block of receipts (which match the serial numbers on your vouchers) at the casino cage and know exactly how many vouchers you have - they called us on our second to last night to tell us we needed to redeem. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the suggestions. One last question....is there a max amount of credit you can get?

Thanks again for all the help

As far as I know, the only limit is what your credit card will allow. The highest individual casino voucher s $100, but you may order as many as you like at a time. Several of us have purchased thousands of dollars. No problem.

Good luck and shalom. Andy.
