sneaking alcohol

last year on the ncl dawn we saw the naughty line after dinner the first night. it was not pretty. hundreds of angry passengers in very long slow lines waiting to get their luggage due to trying to smuggle booze. while they still hadn't even gotten their luggage, we had had dinner and went to the casino. the naughty line is not the way i want to spend my first evening of vacation.

Problem is -- not everyone standing in that line to get their luggage was trying to smuggle booze (or any other contraband) onboard. On our last RC cruise, a friend traveling with us (who does not drink, due to health reasons) waited and waited for one of his bags. He finally got a call to report to the "naughty room" and open his bags for inspection. The offending items turned out to be an unopened, sealed bottle of non-alcoholic mouthwash and a bottle of contact lens solution. Now's that's irritating!

Never been caught when WE brought it on board. however, there was an issue of lost/late luggage and CARNIVAL brought our luggage on board. Then lectured ME on bring on alcohol. *I* didn't bring the bags on board. The bottles were returned the last night, unopened. That was a fun night!

On Disney, you can bring whatever/however you want in your carry on. I brought mini bottles of champagne and wine, dh brought half a bottle of gray goose and I filled never before used baby bottles (4 oz) with rum and something else. I think dh had two drinks and I drank two mini bottles.

You can also bring whatever back from ports. Dh bought a six pack on our first stop.

Not as fun when you're 'allowed' to do something. lol.
