Mr. Mazel Posted August 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2011 We have been informed by Gregory Click, Mgr. of Guest Relations that Children's Playroom will take the place of the Bridge Card Room on the Sojourn voyage of 8/23. Very disappointing news to us. We enjoyed playing Bridge on those days at sea; pleasant way of meeting people.

You've been dealt a bad hand ;) , as I empathize with your situation being a bridge player who enjoys the social aspect of the card room and not particularly caring about kids on board. And being informed of such only 2 weeks prior to sail date is just poor customer relations. Just a hunch, but for them to take such action, sounds like a lot of children on this cruise. Yep...sounds like that floating tin can will be innondated with rug rats and ankle bitters....report back once onboard if you can how many kids were onboard? JaneBP Posted August 10, 2011 #4 Share Posted August 10, 2011 I can understand that the cruise before the crossing would have many children. It is port-intensive and brief, as well as just before school starts. Great time for a family vacation. It seems to me that an alternative spot can be arranged, perhaps a corner at Seabourn Square? Seabourn always tries to accommodate special situations.
wripro Posted August 10, 2011 #5 Share Posted August 10, 2011 Why can't they set up bridge games in Restaurant 2 during the day when it is not in use? It's a pity they designed three new ships without a proper spot for the demographic they are pursuing with those ships.
BristolGolfer Posted August 11, 2011 #6 Share Posted August 11, 2011 On our Sojourn World Cruise 'The Club' was used for social bridge most days - it seemed to work fine so I can't see any reason why bridge players can't get together there. marchanxiety Posted August 11, 2011 #7 Share Posted August 11, 2011 I just returned from a seven-day on the Sojourn. There were no sea days, and several tweens and teens were aboard. The card room did indeed become the kids' hangout. There were no bridge hosts, but "unhosted" bridge games were on the program most days. I think this was a function of that particular itinerary rather than the kids.
jagi Posted November 2, 2011 #8 Share Posted November 2, 2011 There are no bridge directors unless the sea days are at least a third of the total days of the cruise.
