Transportation to Daliyat El-Carmel on Saturday

We will be visiting the port of Haifa on a Saturday. We would like to visit the Bahai gardens

and the Druze village of Daliyat El-Carmel. Will we be able to hire a taxi at the port to take

us or should we arrange for a tour guide for 1/2 a day?

Rent a car. Get a road map. The drive to Daliyat is pretty easy. I did it a few times with my ex when we visited Israel on business. The drive through the Carmel National Forest is beautiful. There is a Carmelite chapel up there, too, Muhraka, with a fantastic view of a Valley. You can make a circle drive and end up back at Haifa.

One thing to remember - Saturday is a Sabbath day in Israel, so some things will be closed. When we were there a few times, we had Friday and Saturday off as the "weekend", so we ended up working Easter Sunday twice.
