Miami Hotel

We are flying into Miami the night before a cruise out of Fort Lauderdale and looking for a hotel near the Miami airport that has airport shuttle. We will go back to the airport in the morning to take cruise shuttle to Fort Lauderdale Pier. Just need some ideas of hotels that are nice and any to stay away from.

Check out hotels in the Blue Lagoon area near MIA (Hampton Inn, Sofitel, Homewood Suites and others) - free airport shuttles and shopping and dining options within walking distance.

The MIA Embassy Suites is another good option, but you will be more isolated - no good dining options within walking distance but the hotel has a restaurant and you can't beat the free happy hour! :D

La Quinta East is a budget option popular with cruisers; it gets mixed reviews but seems to be good enough for lots of cruisers.

The Sofitel is a particularly nice MIA-area hotel, although not much to walk to in the area. The Doral Intercontinental is nice, with a few sit-down chain restaurants within walking distance.

We are booked at the Sofitel and they provide an Airport Shuttle.

They will also take you to the Port of Miami for $10.00 per Person. Plus they will take you to a big shopping Center from the hotel for $10.00 round trip per person.
