First Time Bargaining Idea

An idea for jewlery/small item bargaining...

I took three different colored small coin purses - one with $10-$20, one with $45 and one with $90. When the shopkeeper gave me his "best price", I would bargain down, and pull out the appropriate coin purse to show that my coin purse only had a certain amount of money in it and I couldn't spend any more. For example, if the "best price" was $150, I would bargain down to $100, then pull out the coin purse with only $90 and the shopkeeper would usually agree to the $90 final price. I refilled the coin purse and started over again at the next store. We used each coin purse at least once during the trip. Even if we accidentally paid too much for an item or two, it made the "game" of shopping more fun in the Cozumel and Belize markets.
