Sorrento webcam

Recommended Posts

just to let you know that the webcam is up & running--was there during Spring Break and waved to anyone watching!

Sorrento--well worth the trip! gorgeous place! Also take time & visit Pompeii and take a bus trip along the Amalfi Coast. Positano is a cute town built up on the cliffs. Capri and Anacapri--expensive place but again, fun to wander around! Hope the funicular is working by now (closed when we were there)

go to website: sorrentoinfo.com/webcam2.asp and it should work

you stand on the manhole & wave! this is a cute street (all the streets are narrow!) I love Sorrento & would love to go back.
If you get there, make sure to look at the hand painted ceramics (not the mass market stuff) Beautiful! It is fun to check in once in a while to see what is happening in Sorrento!

I was there during Spring Break this year yes, I am home again!

I was not on a cruise; we landed in Rome and trained down to Sorrento where we stayed 4 days (day trip Pompeii, the Capri, then Amalfi Coast via bus) Sorrento--yes, you can fall in love with the pace of life there (especially after Rome!)

yes it is definitely uphill; I would suggest a taxi or wait for the local bus (not too expensive, a few euros) unless you love stairs! It is a climb from the harbour to the actual townsite of Sorrento, but beautiful!

We spent 4 days in Sorrento and that is why we loved it--if you only have a day, then it will just seem like a nice town. Try getting off the main street and walk the narrow streets (with many stores selling leather purses, belts, sandals --quite common to see 70 euros and up for them--scarves, beautiful ceramics (we bought 2 espresso cups with small tray for 14 euros--all handpainted, not mass market stuff)
Restaurant I would recommend (location: main piazza) Donna Victoria--lovely food, good service, nice surroundings, etc. We had dinner there; I assume they are open for lunch now that April is here!
